You have grooves in your brain from your habits of thinking.  Catch yourself playing a negative record (worry, grief, anger, listlessness), AND STOP!  Change the record!

Reach for a happy record, and put it on.
”I can walk.”
”I can talk.”
”I can have a cup of coffee.”
”Today’s a day.”
”I know what time it is.”
”I can smile at that person.”
”I can pet a dog.”
”I can dance a jig.”
”The future was perfect.”
”Everything is happening as it should.”

We were taught to manage the emotion, but that’s hard. Just change the record. Record new words that are just for you. Your voice, your mantra, your wink, your laugh at yourself. And when you find you are playing a negative record … change it. Do it now. “I am alive.” Do it a thousand times.

No moralizing. No guilt. No therapy. Just mechanics.

Random find on the internet in a place called HEALTH MATTERS

A group of local housekeepers lost weight, lowered their blood pressure, and reduced their body fat—all without hitting the gym or changing their daily routines.

The only difference was in what they believed: that their labor was exercise. Their minds believed it so their bodies responded accordingly.

This study’s findings were first published in 2007 in Sage Journals. Today a growing body of research demonstrates this scientific discovery. What our minds believe about our bodies can lead to consequential physical changes.
